ROLLETTE

Make the photo dump
worth keeping.

An iOS prototype for selecting a period, reviewing a varied photo set, making replacements, and saving a consistent 4:5 export.

Photo selection system

From a crowded camera roll to a coherent set.

The prototype keeps selection review and replacement in one flow, then uses the same export rules for every final 4:5 image.

Selection with room for judgment

Rollette proposes a compact set, then leaves replacement choices with the person who took the photos.

Period first

Start with the current month or set a custom range. The app gathers candidates only from that chosen period.

Duplicate and diversity review

On-device Vision analysis helps group nearby duplicates and balance scene categories and capture times. It is a curation aid, not an aesthetic verdict.

4:5 batch export

Review the resulting grid, replace individual picks from the candidate pool, then save cropped 1080×1350 images together.

From a month of photos to a shareable set

The visible steps make it possible to revise an imperfect suggestion.

  1. 01

    Choose a period

Select a month or a date range from the photo library.

  2. 02

    Review the selection

Inspect the grid and replace a photo where the proposed variety does not fit the memory.

  3. 03

    Save the set

Export each selected image in a 4:5 format for a consistent carousel.

Illustrative workflow

  1. A user chooses photos from a summer trip.
  2. Rollette groups close shots and proposes a varied selection.
  3. The user swaps one photo, then saves the final 4:5 set.

Development workflow

Codex supports development and testing of the prototype; it does not inspect a user’s photo library. Claude Code is being evaluated for selected workflows.

Inputs: curation rules and Swift modules

The work covers the period-selection flow, duplicate rules, diversity constraints, and the iOS modules that implement them.

Work: agents and test cases

Pure curation logic remains separate from Vision-dependent code, with tests for clustering, category limits, and replacement flows.

Value: reviewable suggestions

That development process keeps the user-facing result replaceable when a category or duplicate decision needs human context.

The current prototype does not call the Claude API. Other Claude API ideas will be considered only after Findoc’s planned evaluation.

Questions at this stage

Is Rollette available in an app store?

No. This is a pre-release first implementation and is not publicly released.

Does the app automatically choose the “best” photos?

No. It proposes a set using duplicate and diversity signals; the user can review and replace choices.
